Palace extend Warnock contract

Crystal Palace will announce that manager Neil Warnock has signed a one-year contract extension later today (Friday)

Warnock`s new contract will run to the end of the 2010/11 season.

The news ends speculation that the former Sheffield United manager was set to quit the Eagles.

Rumours had linked him with the managerial roles at QPR and Ipswich Town in recent weeks.

Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser: "I`ve spoken to the chairman (Simon Jordan) and I`ve told him just how happy I am here, particularly with the fans.

"So I`ve decided to commit myself to another year.

"The biggest factor in my decision has been the fans.

'I think they know that I`m the best person to turn it round and push it in the other direction.'
