McCarthy Targeting More Clean Sheets

McCarthy Targeting More Clean Sheets

Paddy McCarthy knows how hard clean sheets are to come by in the Championship, but whilst we seem to have few problems achieving that feat at home, away is a different story.

Quoted on the Guardian our captain said that keeping a clean sheet in any game was a 'massive' bonus for the team, but he feels we are getting closer to being 100% solid at the back away from home.

'With the players we have got in the side we are going to create chances, so keeping a clean sheet is paramount for us staying in this division. We have defended well over the last few weeks.'

With our match against QPR next on the agenda, you'd get good money on us not conceding, but even if we can't take the clean sheet McCarthy says the team is confident enough to go to places like Loftus Road with the belief that they can get something from the game.

'We are confident with the squad we have and think we can go places like QPR and get results. I can't wait for it!'

McCarthy adds that in the early season fixture he believes we were unlucky to be turned over so the squad will be going there looking for revenge.

'The gaffer has been fantastic setting out game plans to get results from matches, I am sure it will be no different on Saturday.'
