Davis Ready To Impress

Claude Davis has said he is ready to make an impact in the first team again following the suspension of Paddy McCarthy.

Davis has been on the bench since the beginning of 2011 as McCarthy and Gardner struck up an imposing partnership in the centre of our defence, but following McCarthy's sending off at QPR, Davis is more than willing to prove he can give Dougie Freedman a headache on selections.

Speaking to the The Guardian the Jamaican said:

'I have always been ready. It's been frustrating but what can I do but keep working hard and wait for my chance?'

Some would say it was tailor made for Davis to get his return to the first team against his former club Derby, but he doesn't view it as anything but a normal game.

'Saturday is just another game and it's an important game in Palace's fight against relegation.'

Davis adds he thinks we need at least 5 more wins to be secure and free from relegation worries, and he sees no reason why we can't start with 3 points against his former club this weekend.
