Club To Organise Charity Match For Thomas

Geoff Thomas returned to Selhurst Park last weekend to promote the 'Give Blood Cancer The Red Card' campaign and Palace are set to play a big part in helping the charity reach it's aims.

Speaking to News Shopper after the event, Dougie Freedman praised Thomas for all the hard work and dedication he's put into raising both money and awareness for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research, and stated the club would do all it could to help support Geoff and his charity involvement.

One such plan is in the organising of a special charity match involving Palace's youth v a former players side.

'We will help him however we can and that is what we are going to do. He can come back here anytime and we are going to do everything for him and get as much publicity for him as we can.'

Speaking on the proposed game itself, Freedman adds.

'We will put a game on for him where it may be a young Palace team versus an older one with ex Palace players. We want to get it arranged because Geoff wants it to happen and we will do that because we are a family club, we stick together.'

Fans can still donate 2 via text message, by texting Geoff to 70099.
