Dougie Delighted By Clyne's Playing Record

Nathaniel Clyne is set to make his 100th Eagles appearance tomorrow against Ipswich Town, and Freedman is hopeful the talented fullback will play at least another 100 in the Palace shirt.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser Dougie thinks that for Clyne to reach a 100 whilst still so young is a testament to his desire and love of the game - afterall, he only celebrated his 20th Birthday last Tuesday.

Dougie knows he won't stay at Palace for ever as there is increasing interest from Premier League clubs for his services, but he is hopeful Clyne will remain with us for another couple of seasons at least.

'It's an unbelievable achievement for someone his age - it just shows you what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. Hopefully he'll play another 100 for us before he's ready to head off to Arsenal or whoever.'

Some fans may think that's a strange comment to make, but Freedman does add the caveat.

'Or better still, by then Palace are in the Premier League and he can fulfil his potential here.'

Shows not only Freedman's ambition for the Eagles, but also just how highly he does rate Clyne.
