'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie's Decree: Bad Day At The Office

Dougie Freedman believes today was a bad day at the office after watching Palace lose at home for the first time since he took charge.

Crystal Palace FC after the game, Freedman had no real option but to admit that Scunthorpe were the better team on the day, and that unfortunately we didn't really turn up and perform in the way we know we are capable of doing.

'It was a bad day at the office, Scunthorpe were the better team. I haven't got any complaints about losing the match. It's been a fantastic run, it's come to an end - that's football for you, we'll make another one.'

Freedman prefers to wipe this performance from his mind and concentrate on the bigger picture, which is survival.

'We have given ourselves a right good chance to survive, and survival is the key, not beating Scunthorpe. The key factor is staying up and that's still in our hands.'

Freedman also says that he is waiting on the results of a scan for James Vaughan who ended the game limping. He'll go for the MRI on Monday but Dougie is hopeful it's nothing too serious.
