Dougie Freedman has admitted he isn't giving up hope on securing Neil Danns to a new contract.
Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser Freedman said he'd had a good chat this week with Danns and they will meet again before any final decisions are made, but until he signs on the dotted line for another club, our contract will remain on the table.
'He's always welcome at this club and the contract we've offered will be there until he signs for someone else.'
Freedman understands where Danns is coming from having played a huge part at the club for the last two years, and he says that Danns has explained that he wants to consider his options over the summer, but will meet with the gaffer again before he decides anything.
Hopefully Danns will want to continue to be involved in our rebuild, as we want to be strengthening the team, not replacing lynchpins we already have.
