Parish Defends Clyne's No Show

Steve Parish has urged Eagles' fans to not read too much into Nathaniel Clyne's no show at the awards ceremony, insisting it was an innocent mix up over dates.

Clyne wasn't at the event to receive his Player of the Season award first hand, and plenty of criticism for missing it has been thrown his way on social networking sites, but Parish doesn't believe it was a deliberate slight from the player nor was it proof he will be off during the summer.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser Parish said.

'I don't know the exact reason, but I've been told it was simply a misunderstaning over dates. Let's not forget that he didn't know that he had won the award, no one knew until the night. I don't think it was intentional.'

Despite Parish's calming words, fans will certainly continue to have their own take on the no show, and if Clyne does depart in the hope the grass is greener elsewhere during the summer, you can't help but feel this unfortunate event will mark his departure.
