No Bids For Clyne....Yet

Dougie Freedman has again quashed speculation linking Nathaniel Clyne with a move away from the club.

Earlier in the week it was being reported that Newcastle had tested our resolve with a £2m bid for the right back, but Dougie said there had been no official contact from any club over the player and more importantly the figures being bandied around in the press were well below what the club value him at, even with only 12 months left on his contract.

Speaking to the South London Press Freedman said.

'There has not been an offer and if we did receive one for £2m it would be rejected. Nathaniel is a young player that is only going to get better, the last thing we want to do is sell him for the small amounts that have been quoted.'

Freedman adds that a sale is by no means the only option available, and he's still hopeful that he can sit down with the player and 'resolve it somehow'.
