'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Defence Remains A Problem

Dougie Freedman has called on the squad to be better in defence following our 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the final friendly of pre season.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC Freedman said the team performed admirably for two of our three tasks, but losing the game was a severe disappointment.

'Today was about everything, it was about winning the game, it was about fitness and how we perform, and I think we got 2 out of 3 correct.'

Despite the disappointment of the loss however, Freedman said he saw plenty of positives in the game.

'We created an unbelieveable amount of chances and we should have been well ahead in the game. We controlled the game for many long spells, and defensively we were solid for 70 minutes.'
