London Violence Affects Carling Cup

London Violence Affects Carling Cup

Crawley Town's visit to Crystal Palace later tonight is in serious doubt following the continuation of violence and looting in London.

Whatever the cause may have been, whether right or wrong, for the outbreak on Saturday, the violence and idiotic nonsense seen last night cannot be condoned, explained or understood.

Blame the Police, the Government, the recession or whatever excuse takes you - sometimes you just have to take control of your own behaviour and it appears far too many in this country are no longer prepared to do that....sadly.

Therefore, with the trouble in Croydon last night it's quite likely our game will now be called off.

Sky News and other outlet's are carrying the strapline that the Met have ordered all London clubs to postpone the midweek fixtures but as of yet there is no direct confirmation from either Palace or Crawley on this.

Hopefully within the next hour (as of publishing time) we'll know something concrete - all that is guaranteed so far is West Ham and Charlton have postponed games.

What a sorry state of affairs.
