'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie's Decree: Delighted

Dougie Freedman was absolutely delighted to see us turn Burnley over 2-0 today.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, Dougie said the win was thoroughly deserved given the performance of the lads.

'I thought it was a performance that merited a win. Overall I'm delighted with the performance and the result.'

With Burnley being a home debut for a number of players, Freedman was also pleased to see them find their feet properly and show what they are capable of.

'It was good for Jonathan to make his home debut and get a goal, I thought he performed very well, as did most of them. Tunchev on his debut at the back, but I thought it was a good team performance and I said that to the lads. I'm trying to stress teamwork and a work ethic that will produce opportunities to show that individual brilliance.'

As per an article comment on the team sheets and a number of confused faces at the disappearence of Glenn Murray today, let alone the injury to Ambrose, Dougie explained.

'Darren got a stud in the back of hsi calf and slightly twisted his knee. Murray twisted his ankle at Peterborough and didn't train yesterday.'

Whilst he gives no time frame on Ambrose it's likely he'll miss the Coventry game, and Freedman does add that it's probably wishful thinking to expect Murray back on Tuesday aswell.
