Gardner Targeting Play Off Finish

Gardner Targeting Play Off Finish

Anthony Gardner has said that he believes Palace should be looking to battle for the play off places this season.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser the centre back said he believes Palace now have enough quality to mount a serious promotion battle, and lift everybodies spirits.

'It's clear the progression we have made since Dougie Freedman came in for the second half of last season. We are getting there and have been more consistent with our results. Everyone is playing for the manager and the spirit in the camp is really good so to make the play offs would be nice.'

Some might think that it's a claim too far too quick, but it certainly shows how bouyant the camp now is after the past few seasons we have endured.

Although Gardner says himself that if the play offs are long shot, a good and solid midtable table finish would be seen as a dramatic and fantastic improvement given where the club has been.

There's no reason why we can't have that aim, there has been enough improvement given our start to the season although I concede we will have a dip at some point, so I'd more than take a midtable finish now with the performances we are seeing.
