Foderingham Looking For Extension

Wes Foderingham is hoping to secure a longer deal with Palace as he believes he is the natural successor to Julian Speroni.

Speaking to the South London Press the 20 year goalkeeper was enjoying his loan spell at Swindon Town, but is clearly keeping one eye on his future.

'I would like to renew my contract. Julian has got the number one spot nailed down but he's 32 and I'm 20. When he's coming into the final years of his playing career it will be a good time for me to step in - it all falls into place quite nicely.'

Foderingham's deal runs out next summer and he thinks the way forward for his development is to keep going out on loan and learning with first team action so he's ready to step in at Palace when needed.

'I'd like to stay and keep going out on loan. I just want to keep improving.'

Wes adds that although he hasn't spoken to anybody about his contract yet, he's hoping something can be sorted before Christmas.
