'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie's Decree: Delight & Surprise

Dougie Freedman was delighted to see Palace complete our fourth away victory of the season, but expressed his surprise at how we have shot up the table.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC after the 1-0 victory over Ipswich, Dougie said.

'It's surprised me, how well we're doing and how quickly the players have picked things up. I felt as long as we stayed on the front foot and kept creating chances the goal would come. Ipswich had an off day because I've seen them before and they've been better than that. So to come here and win was very pleasing.'

Freedman saved his special praise this time round for Captain and all round good egg Paddy McCarthy.

'He's our captain and he stands for everything I believe in. His attitude is fantastic, he's got good values, he's a good leader and he leads by example.'
