Cup Run Will Help Us Keep Players

Dougie Freedman has said that the Cup run could actually help Palace keep some of our younger players in January, as opposed to simply putting them in the shop window.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser Freedman said he believed that the cash alone brought in from our progression would aide him in keeping players when the window opens.

'It might help me be able to hold onto one or two in January. I want to keep all our young players as I have worked very hard over the last 18 months with them. If this cup run will help me hold onto them when the window opens then great, as it is probably better news than being given the green light to go out and buy any.'

It's certainly a statement that Palace are on the up, and if we can back that up with a good league campaign then surely those attracting interest will be more willing to stay and work to achieve promotion with us.
