Dougie's Decree: A Fantastic 48 Hours

Dougie Freedman has no concerns at all with us only taking a point off Derby County, instead he decided to reflect on a hectic 48 hours and smile.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC Dougie was happy with our determination and application in the game after making numerous changes because of player fatigue from the United clash, and he was content that football doesn't always go your way all of the time and was pleased with the point.

'Football's never going to go your way all of the time. In the first half we showed great enthusiasm and good combination to play to create a number of chances. Derby had nothing to lose and threw everything at us in the second half. It was a game of two different displays from us, in the first half we attacked very well, in the second we defended for our lives. I'm not disappointed, I'm over the moon to be coming out with a point and a semi final place in 48 hours.'

Derby also saw the cameo debut of Antonio Pedroza, and Freedman was delighted with his efforts on the pitch in the short time he got.

'He's a fantastic little guy. I wasn't afraid to put him on with ten minutes to go, he's got something I really like. He will be fantastic for us.'

There is obviously plenty to be happy with this season, and you can certainly add the development of the youngsters into that. It all bodes well for the future.
