'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie's Decree: No Complaints

Dougie Freedman said following the loss to Southampton on Boxing Day that we saw exactly why they are top of the league.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC after the 2-0 loss, the manager said.

'On the evidence of today I can understand why Southampton are at the top of the league. We defended well at times but when Lambert or Lallana do not pop up with a goal, somebody else steps up to the plate. We are still moving forward and working hard at changing this club. Before the start of the season anyone connected with the club would have looked to improve on last season and that is what we will be working towards.'

With the talk recently of play off places, Freedman adds that this result can serve as a reality check and remind everyone not to get too carried away given how many games are left.
