'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hills Delighted To Be Back On The Pitch

Lee Hills was delighted with his debut for Southend last weekend after joining the club on loan.

Speaking to the Croydon Guardian Hill's put nigh on two years of injury troubles behind him last Saturday as he stayed on the pitch for 80 minutes, following that up with another 72 minutes on Monday and has thankfully suffered no ill effects following the games.

'At one point I thought football was over for me, I couldn't even go up the stairs let alone kick a football. That's why I was so delighted to play again and getting the 3 points made it a dream debut for me. I needed to get some games again and that's why I jumped at the chance to come to Southend.'

Time will tell if he figures in Dougie's plans, but in either case it's good to see him back on the pitch and playing again following his injury.
