Dougie's Decree: A Draw Was Fair

Dougie's Decree: A Draw Was Fair

Dougie Freedman was non too happy with how we started the game against Burnley, but he was delighted with our response to going behind.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC after the hard earnt point, Freedman said.

'I think a draw is a fair result and I am very happy with that point because we didn't start very well. Our character shone through in the end, by getting back on level terms and holding on to that point after going down to 10 men.'

Dougie also said he was both pleased with the decision to not send Jonathan Parr off, but equally he has no complaints with the dismissal of Wilfried Zaha.

'I felt the referee made the right decision not to send Jonathan off because I felt we had a covering player and I also felt the red card he showed to Wilfried was the right decision. He has clipped a player's heels out of frustration but I think he has been dealt a rough deal in that he has been chopped four of five times before that. The referee didn't protect him and we need to ask referees to do that. I am disappointed by the treatment he received on the pitch.'
