'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zaha Praises Freedman Following Award

Wilfried Zaha was humble when receiving his Young Player of the Year Award, making sure he thanked those partly responsible for his burgeoning rise to fame.

Speaking firstly on the award, Zaha said.

'I am surprised to be honest. I was really hoping I could do it, I had my fingers crossed. This has been a really good season for me. Crystal Palace is a nice club to be at, I know how it works and I feel comfortable there.'

As for Dougie, he added.

'Dougie has been a really positive influence on my progress. He has provided me with advice about my all round game, my defensive play, as well as my attacking game.'

Whilst Zaha has cause to celebrate, unfortunately Jonathan Williams, Dougie Freedman and Darren Ambrose missed out on their respective nominations.
