Dougie Freedman has said that he won't rush into the transfer market in the summer, but he knows the board will back him as we look to improve on this campaign.
Speaking to yourlocalguardian about the plans for next season, Dougie again reiterated the financial constraints that the club finds itself under, but he said he knows as long as he works within his budgets the board won't hesitate to back him as he bids to take the club further forward in the league.
'We are going to get to the summer and then assess the season and then see what is out there. The problem we have is there is no point talking to the board about money if there is nothing out there. Once I discover people I think will make us stronger, then I will approach the board and they have never turned down any signings. As long as I can stay within our financial plans I think they will back us.'
Other summer plans involve deciding who to keep with a number of players out of contract, but that's not something Dougie is looking into until we are closer to the end of the season.
'We are too far away at the moment. We are going to get the next couple of weeks out of the way and then we will talk with Anthony (Gardner) and also the others. We will look at it and decide who I feel can help us next year.'
