'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie's Decree: A Good Point

Dougie Freedman was pleased to see us take a point from the game against Ipswich to stop our recent rut.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the 1-1 all draw, Dougie said he was somewhat disappointed that we lost the lead, but he believes it was a fair result.

'I thought it was a fair result, we're a little disappointed having taken the lead but Ipswich had a very experienced side out there. It stopped the losing rut and it's a good point for us. I also feel we got one or two of the youngsters more game time and we played some good football.'

Dougie also talked briefly about the season as a whole.

'When we started my mission was to bring a different culture back into the team and make sure we had a feel good factor around the place. We've had some fantastic occasions, it's coming together. The biggest thing I'm proud about is I've got youngsters that I really believe in.'

We've certainly seen some good progress from the younger players this season, and Dougie's dealings in the transfer window have paid off, and there's also the few like Appiah that we should see more of next season.

A play off push was a step too far this time round, and it's what people will be looking towards next campaign, but as long as we keep showing steady growth the majority should be happy.
