Freedman Planning On Summer Changes

Freedman Planning On Summer Changes

Dougie Freedman has said he is focused on 'key positions' in the Palace team for next season, and confirmed that some players will be moving on.

Speaking to yourlocalguardian the gaffer said of his summer plans.

'There are key positions we have been missing throughout the season and I know that and understand what I have to do over the summer. If I can add to those vital positions then I have every confidence we can be a lot better. There is no secret we have had a lot of injuries and that has given me an opportunity to play a few players and there are also players I have played I have been unhappy with. There are one or two that have performed very well and one or two have let themselves down.'

Everyone will have their own thoughts on likely departures, but I'd doubt we'll see wholescale changes as Freedman will be mindful of building a squad, not just a first XI. Our youngsters have done well in the main stepping in when required, but having experienced backup can also account for a lot of points when suspensions and injuries hit.
