Williams Signs On Until 2017

Jonathan Williams has put pen to paper on a new five year deal at Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC about the 18 year old, Dougie Freedman said.

'I had a plan at the beginning of the season to take this club up to the next level and this included giving me the opportunity to blood a handful of young players and get them more experience. Jonny is the perfect example of one of those who has stepped up to the plate during the season and with the attitude, desire and work rate he displays day in day out he can go on and become one of the best young players in the Championship next season.'

Speaking for himself after signing the contract, Williams said.

'It feels great to have signed a five year deal with the club I've grown up playing for. Palace is a major part of my life. I've had a really good season, I never expected to play 18 games, score one and have six assists. I'm looking forward to next season now.'

Another good move from the club as Williams will certainly be catching other clubs' eyes next season.
