Freedman Looking For Sunny Start

Freedman Looking For Sunny Start

'I can visualise it now, it'll be a sunny afternoon and hopefully the result goes our way.' - Freedman responds to fixture release.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the release of next seasons fixture list, Dougie Freedman has said he's looking for a sunny start to the campaign, and although it's difficult to cherry pick what would be a good opening game, the fact we are at home will give the club a boost.

'It's difficult to comment on what the perfect fixture would be as football is not a perfect world, but having the first game at home is fantastic for the crowd and it gets the boys back straight away on our own turf.'

Freedman adds that despite enjoying his family holiday this year, about half way through the break the mind does wander to the next campaign and whether the players are behaving and keeping a modicum of fitness.

'I've had a great holiday with the family but your mind does wander a little bit. What the players are up to, if they're taking the right actions to get themselves ready for the new season. But they're a great bunch of lads and I'm looking forward to getting back and working with them now.'
