'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie On His Own Substitution

Dougie Freedman has explained why he donned the shirt against Dulwich.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC Dougie said that he was hopeful he could include more first teamers in the Dulwich game, but with how things have gone following the Exeter cancellation, he's had to rejig training and teams for games, so he thought he'd introduce himself.

He's not however looking to make a comeback!

Speaking on the game generally, he said firstly.

'We brought a very young energetic team with us to get some game time and I thought they acquitted themselves fantastically well. They showed me that underneath the first team is a good performance squad. It was very pleasing for me to see that.'

And on his return to the pitch.

'What had happened was that I wanted to bring more of a first team down but we've had to mix up our training and our games. We're going to Spain in a few days so unfortunately I couldn't bring a first team down. I thought I'd give it ten minutes myself and add a few quid to the gate and give something extra for the fans.'

Certainly gave something extra to the team, setting up Allassani and finding the post himself.

London24 also carry the following quotes.

'I think the way I'm feeling right now it'll be another couple of years before you see another cameo.'

Nice touch given he couldn't bring the names fans were probably expecting!
