Clyne Compensation Agreed

Southampton and Crystal Palace have agreed on a compensation fee for right back Nathaniel Clyne, avoiding the need for a tribunal.

Clyne now officially moves to Southampton, with all the paperwork done and dusted after the deal was struck.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC Steve Parish said.

'Nathaniel has been an excellent servant of the club and one we worked very hard to keep but it was clear his desire was to move and we can't complain about the service he's give us. I told him all he owes us now is to show the Premier League how good he is and make us even more proud of him.'

Nice words from the Chairman given our experiences of youngsters leaving us in the past, I think everybody wishes Clyney the best, and it's just a shame we couldn't have benefited from the fees Southampton have in the past when selling their youngsters.

It's rumoured the fee is around £2.5m, but it hasn't been disclosed by either club.

'We are pleased to have worked constructively with Southampton to conclude the deal before it went to tribunal. We are all working hard behind the scenes to strengthen the squad and will use the right investment to bring in new players as and when we are sure they are the correct acquisitions for this football club.'
