Dougie Pleased With Exeter Improvement

Dougie Pleased With Exeter Improvement

Dougie Freedman has declared himself pleased with the efforts of the lads against Exeter.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser after the 2-1 win which sees us face Preston in the second round of the Capital One Cup, Dougie said he was pleased to see us progress again.

'We had a fantastic run last season and I played a team I felt would win the game, and my teams don't turn up when they want to, they are committed to winning matches. The fans travelled a long way and showed tremendous support. I think we can perform better though. We got off to a disappointing start and we showed tremendous character to come back and in the end I felt we did enough to win it.'

Freedman was also pleased with our overall defensive play.

'I felt we defended quite well as a unit, I'll give credit to Exeter, it was a ball into the back post and their guy has nipped in, so of course we can do better. Joel did well and I've felt he's getting better every game.'
