Leicester & Loyalty - Lawrence

Leicester & Loyalty - Lawrence

Following our victory over Leicester City today, Lennie Lawrence confirmed he would not be applying for the vacancy as he has a loyalty to Freedman.

Speaking to London24 following the perfect end to a topsy-turvy week, Lennie said of his future.

'I have a loyalty to Dougie. There has been interest from Bolton but I'm here and will do this job to the best of my ability. I will not be applying for the full time job.'

Confirms everything about the rumour of him joining Bolton sadly.

Lawrence however hugely talked up the club despite his confirmation of moving on.

'Whoever gets it has a golden chance. He is going to be one lucky man. There's something very special here, and it's unusual that you get the opportunity to take on a group of players that is so together and riding here in the top four.'

As for today's victory, Lennie added.

'We knew exactly how difficult it would be, we had a game plan and it worked. We started boldly and scored two goals whereas at Barnsley we just got the one. Whoever takes charge will have a side that has every chance of maintaining a play off challenge. They have been absolutely spot on since Dougie left, if they weren't, you could never come to a place like this and win.'

Certainly a very good win for us with how Leicester have been performing, we just have to hope we do get the right man in who can push on from the base that has been created this season. We don't want somebody to come in and change everything around.
