Holloway To Focus On Youth

Ian Holloway has admitted one of the main reasons he moved to Palace was because of our fantastic Academy, and he knows there will be more gems coming through.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Holloway explained.

'The main reason I came here is because behind this group is a wonderful youth set up run by Gary. If Wilfried turned out like that I'll find more diamonds. I've already seen it, I'm not ever going to bring a player here who blocks our youth players. I'm going to play them first and give them a chance to do it. It's all about producing players and this club has done it for years and years and that's what I want to do.'

Holloway adds that he would love to be at Palace for years to come and nurture all our potential Zaha's through into the first team, and one thing about Holloway, if he thinks you're good enough, he'll have faith in you.

I'd also imagine that Holloway will be happy to loan players out at regular intervals as they come through from the Academy to give them as much pitch time as possible to develop.
