'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bitterly Disappointing Boxing Day

Ian Holloway has said he was left bitterly disappointed at the final whistle in the game against Cardiff because we ended terribly.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the 2-1 loss Holloway said.

'We started well and ended terribly, I thought we stopped creating chances and in these game you can't do that and you have to keep going. It was as simple as that. I am bitterly disappointed in the last 15 minutes because if any side looked like they were going to score it was Cardiff. After they scored I don't think my team did what they needed to do, in fact they did worse and not better. There was a lot about us that I was delighted with but I just didn't like the way we ended the game.'

Despite the gap widening at the top following the defeat, Holloway knows there's plenty of games left to play catch up.

'Anybody can close the gap, you only have to look at what Reading did last year. We need to stick together and keep doing the good things because we are not a bad side ourselves and we will keep going.'

Only 2 points off the auto promotion place despite 7 points out of the last 21. Not usually best time of year for Palace. Ollie may still change that.
