To Zaha Or Not To Zaha, That Is The Question
According to some he'll be joining Man U tomorrow for £17m, to others the deal is hung up by Steve Parish being out of the country...all we know for sure is apparently Arsenal didn't want him.
The Herald.ie carry quotes from Arsene Wenger.
'We were never in for Zaha. I don't know if he will go to Man United, if he goes good luck to him.'
Right. The Daily Mail are reporting that a deal has been done, and it will see Wilf return to Palace until the summer.
Curiously they also say despite a deal being expected to be wrapped up, finer details won't be available until the summer, and nor will Wilf undergo a medical until the summer because United's medical staff are out of the country at the moment.
And despite a deal being wrapped up, talks held today were only at an advanced stage.
Therefore, they know as much as the rest of us!
They suggest the deal will be £12million.
They also quote Steve Parish when talking to the Independent.
'Right now, he's a Palace player and he'll be a Palace player in the summer. That's the only thing I can tell you. He'll definitely be playing for us until the end of May whatever happens. There's no way the player is going to leave in January.'
Big difference between being a Palace player and playing until the end of May.
The Mirror however say a deal has been done, but that it hasn't yet been authorised by the authorities.
Who in fact are 'probing' the deal.
They say the agreement is £15million and a loan back until the end of the season.
With United waiting on the conclusion of that probe, they suggest Ferguson is happy to just take Zaha now...which would surely go against everything Parish is hoping to achieve?
Again this report suggests an added bonus of the deal will be one or two loans from United which has been raised before.
Finally there is also a report by givemefootball which says that whilst a deal is close, Steve Parish's trip to the land downunder has stalled progress.
They do say though that a deal is expected to go through before the close of the window.
They suggest the fee is £12million, but one of the finer details is will Wilf return for the season.
So basically, it's still anybodies guess although what does seem sure is he will be, at least in name, a Manchester United player by the end of the window.
