Odemwingie - Now That Would Be A Boost

Late last night it was reported that Palace had been offered Peter Odemwingie by West Bromwich Albion.

Of course the press are full of reports today with a deal being close, a deal being possible and selected Ollie quotes are all over the place.

I don't think anybody would disagree this wouldn't be a fantastic move us, Odemwingie's January issues aside, he's a quality player and he would definitely be a goal threat for us up front.

Ollie told Crystal Palace FC.

'I haven't got a clue about that at all, that's my honest answer. Someone contacted the chairman, the chairman mentioned would I want him? I said, goodness gracious me, of course I would. I don't know what the situation is, apparently his wife wants to come back to London I've been told. We're a London club, he can't go to another London club higher than us. I don't really think that's a realistic target for us though. I'm delighted with the two I've just added.'

The papers suggest there would be an initial loan fee, plus the option of making the deal permanent in the summer for £2million should we get promoted.

This one will either run and run or fizzle out very quickly I think.

Palace will rightly not go against their current squads wage structure - so unless WBA come up with a shared financial package the move will not happen!

Press are saying he's on £39,000 a week. I know we have the Zaha money behind us, but that's just ridiculous money.
