'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Skipper Hails Palace Resilience

Midfielder Mile Jedinak has praised the resilience of the squad after we held on to secure a one nil victory over Stoke City yesterday.

Winger Jason Puncheon bounced back in perfect style from his penalty miss against Tottenham to score the only goal of the game shortly after the half time restart, and it proved to be enough to take all three points as we helped ourselves to a clean sheet.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the match, our skipper said of the game.

'It's obviously huge. We know how tight it is down there at the minute so it was a very crucial win. We knew that going into the game, we knew it would be difficult but we held our own and were very resilient.'

Jedinak goes on to say that he felt we were good value for the win given our overall performance and he felt the three points were more than deserved.

Obviously given the penalty miss and every thing that followed our last game, a few players have been in the press today talking up Punch, and Jedinak didn't miss his chance in his after match interview either.

'Punch is a strong character and he showed all his resilience and thick skin to slot the goal away. He maybe could have had another couple, he'll be the first to admit that, but we are absolutely delighted for him.'

Mile goes on to say that as the game progressed we did have a number of good chances outside of those Punch had, so our victory could've been by a greater margin, and if we keep creating chances like that and keep staying as solid as we were at the back, more wins should certainly be coming our way over the coming few months.

Of course we have now lifted ourselves into 16th place in the leage even though we started yesterday bottom of the table, so that will be a good boost for the players also in terms of their growing confidence. It's still tight though and we haven't achieved anything yet, it's just another step in the right direction.
