'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hennessey Strengthens Goalkeeping Department

The earlier speculation linking us with now former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was on the button.

The Welsh international keeper has joined us for an undisclosed fee, and the 27 year old is our first official piece of business in this window.

He has completed the necessary paperwork to be in contention for the game against Arsenal on Sunday.

He has signed to provide good competition for Julian Speroni, so it'll be interest to see if we now loan out Lewis Price.

He has also signed a three and a half year deal.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC, Hennessey said.

'I'm delighted to be here, I've met some of the lads so I'm just looking forward to getting out onto the training pitch now. We've got Arsenal on the weekend which is going to be a tough game but hopefully we can get something out of it.'

Hennessey says he knows Danny Gabbidon well, so he's been more than clued into life at Palace, so he's delighted the move has come off.
