Palace Confirm Tom Ince

Glad I came back to check, missed it by minutes an hour ago, but Crystal Palace have now confirmed what we all knew, Tom Ince has joined the club on loan from Blackpool until the end of the season.

Hopefully - given he is then out of contract - there is some kind of pre agreement in place for us to keep him, especially if he slots in and performs how we all hope he will following his performances in the Championship this season.

The 22 year old England U21 international winger completed all the relevant paperwork ahead of the closure of the 11pm deadline and a number of clubs were interested in his services, but having spoken to Tony Pulis and the club earlier in the week, he's made the decision that this is the best move for him.

Having seen himself moved on from Liverpool after coming through their youth ranks, he signed for Blackpool back in August 2011 and made his debut for them in a League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday later that month, but grabbed his first professional goal in their victory over Doncaster in October.

He really hasn't looked back since and in 2012-13 he scored 18 goals for the club and took their Player of the Year award and secured himself a place in the Championship Team of the Year as well.

This season he has played in 23 games and scored another seven goals, so he'll not only be hoping to carry that form into the Premiership, he'll be desperately wanting to show that he can more than cut it in top flight football because most expect Tom to go on to very good things during his career given the potential he has shown so far.

As speculated earlier, as part of the deal bringing him to us, Stephen Dobbie has gone in the other direction and will remain with Blackpool until the end of the season now.

And on that note - I'm off to bed!

A good day's business, and all the signings should definitely help us achieve survival this season.
