Murray Like A New Signing

They often say it when a player returns from a long-term injury, however it is almost always true isn't it and Glenn Murray's return will make him a new signing for Crystal Palace really.

Murray will certainly be a new signing to Tony Pulis, and he knows it, as the striker's been out injured long before Pulis was even a blip on the Palace radar as he would have still been Stoke boss at the time of the knee injury he picked up in May.

Having trained for several weeks now, and taken part in some reserve games, Murray is in contention to make his Palace return and Pulis has welcomed his "new signing" back into the fold to give him another attacking option.

The Palace boss told the Daily Mail: 'Glenn has trained for about three weeks and played a couple of practice matches.

'He looks fit and strong and is in the 25. He's like a new signing.'

The 31-goal topscorer from last season will still be lacking match fitness but the only way he'll get that is by playing minutes and he could get his first premier league involvement in the massive relegation battle with West Brom tomorrow?

Any involvement Murray could have will almost certainly come from the bench but having been named in the 25-man premier league squad earlier this week it is anticipated that he'll be named among the subs to give Pulis an alternative option.
