Ledley Looking To Build On Debut

New signing midfielder Joe Ledley has said he is looking to build on his fantastic Palace debut when we face Manchester United this weekend.

The deadline day signing scored on his debut against West Bromwich Albion in our last match a fortnight ago, and although he was in an unfamiliar left back berth, Ledley told Crystal Palace FC that although it was the perfect start for him, it was only a start and he knows he has to back up that level of performance again when we go this weekend.

'It was a bit difficult, I was playing at left back which is a position I haven't played for a long time, but I managed to do a job there and help us get the three points which was the main thing. To get the goal was the icing on the cake.'

Ledley says it was a fantastic start for him and he was delighted to do that, but the main thing is now building on that performance and victory and ensuring we get something from the Manchester United encounter.

There is a quiet confidence that we can do that, and Ledley goes on to talk about the spirit within the camp and the fact that even though he's only been here for roughly a fortnight, he already feels at home with how everyone has welcomed him and he's loving life at the club at the moment, and that feeling can only get better if we get the results we want and secure our Premiership status for 2014-15.

He adds that not being the only new addition in a dressing room helps, but also Palace have somewhat of a Welsh influence which has also really helped him.
