Positives Despite Defeat For Pulis

Manager Tony Pulis has said there are positives he can take from the game against Manchester United today, even though we ultimately lost.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, the gaffer admitted that he felt United had the chances to go ahead in the first half, so he was delighted to see us keep the score at nil nil for so long and be in the game ourselves with opportunities.

'They've not had many chances though, he keeper's not made any saves. But giving them the penalty obviously gave them a lift. I thought it was a penalty - Cham's come across him.'

Pulis goes on to say that he's worked really hard for us in games, but today wasn't his day and he didn't feel he played that well, but the penalty was just a bad decision and one of those things that happen unfortunately.

'Up until that point we knew the longer the game went on, the more opportunities we would get because United would press onto us. Their second goal we could have done better with as well.'

There was of course a penalty shout that could've gone our way before they opened the scoring where Mata caught Chamakh in the penalty box, and if that had've been given we could've been looking at a different game but the break went for them and not us, and that's the way it goes usually. Not that Pulis was a blunt as that, he just pointed out there's no point in moaning about the referee because the game has gone now, and our focus has to be on the next match and making sure that points for us don't hinge on the referee making a correct decision.
