14-Points And Counting

The magical '40-point mark' is something that all clubs are targeting in the Premier League for survival, Crystal Palace are no different.

Palace have 26-points from the same amount of games played so far, which is so far enough to keep them out of the bottom three by two-points but Tony Pulis has spelt out that if he can get Palace up to 40-points he will be 'doing summersaults' and the quicker he can do this the better.

The Palace boss was quoted on sky sports as saying: 'If we can get to 40 I will be doing somersaults - 40 points always keeps you up, or it has done for a long time, and if you give me 40 now I will pack my bags and go on holiday.

'I think it is just a case of trying to get as many points as you possibly can from every game and see if that takes you there.'

It was disappointing for Palace to lose against Man United at Selhurst Park at the weekend but that game, in all likelihood, isn't going to be the one that defines the season as others will and they are now the ones to target as many points as possible.

Survival looked highly unlikely before Pulis arrived, this happening can't be taken for granted but if I were a betting man I would have a few quid on this.

These chances are improved by Glenn Murray's return, his surprising start against Man United was another plus point for Palace and Pulis spoke highly of him after his 60-minute outing.
