Jedinak Confident On WC Fitness

Crystal Palace's Australian captain Mile Jedinak has said that he is 'confident of being fit' for this summers world cup finals in Brazil.

Despite picking up a groin injury, and facing three-weeks on the sidelines with the world cup just a month away, the scan results he has just received were what he could have hoped for.

The midfielder told The Sydney Daily Telegraph: 'It's a little bit sore and it's going to mean I miss a couple of weeks or so, but I just got the scan results back and honestly the news is probably as good as I could have hoped for.

'The doctors say I'm looking at two to three weeks, so I have to concentrate now on doing everything in my power to be ready in that timeframe.

'I'm definitely coming back to Australia at some point in the next couple of weeks; the club and the national team staff are just working out the details now of exactly what the rehab will be.'

Ange Postecoglou should not only name the 29-year-old in the world cup squad today but should name him captain, which is he does Jedinak went on to speak about the honour it was to captain his country.

In fact he said it was 'a special feeling'.

As long as he makes it Palace eye will be following his progress with the Aussies I'm sure.
