Pulis Left Frustrated By Scoreline

Pulis Left Frustrated By Scoreline

Manager Tony Pulis was relatively pleased with our overall play in the game last night against Philadelphia Union, but admitted he was left frustrated that we didn't win by a greater margin.

A first half own goal separated the sides at full time, but Palace could've gone in at the half time break at least two or three goals to the good following our showing, and if it hadn't have been for their keeper being in such inspired form, the scoreline would've definitely been larger.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, the gaffer explained.

'It was pleasing, we worked very hard, they made us work very hard. full compliments to Philadelphia because it was a very competitive game. First half, truthfully, we should have scored quite a few goals and that's not criticising them (Philadelphia) at all, that's Bolasie, Puncheon, Chamakh and Gayley all missing really good chances that they should have scored from. In the second half we made lots of changes and it was a good work out for us. That's as hot as it's been for the lads as well.'

Pulis goes on to say that although the victory is nice, and had we been able to win by a greater margin, that would've been nicer - he knows results at this stage really are irrelevant, it's all about fitness and continuing to improve our levels, whilst also trying to get some things from training out on to the pitch as we build towards the season proper - and on those scores, the gaffer is pleased with the development and progression he's seeing.
