Pulis Pleased With Campbell Capture

Pulis Pleased With Campbell Capture

Manager Tony Pulis has said he was delighted to hear the news that striker Fraizer Campbell had put pen to paper on a three year deal.

The 26 year old former Cardiff man joined us the other day, and is yet to meet the gaffer and his colleagues given our tour of America and it doesn't sound like he's going to be flown out either with the time we have left, so speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game against Philadelphia Union last night, he explained.

'I'm pleased - it's a signing we've worked very hard to do over a period of time. I'm disappointed we've not been able to bring him out here, but pleased that he's signed. We need goals, as you've seen (today) - we need people who can put the ball in the back of the net.'

Given the chances we did spurn in the Union game, and the gaffer already talking about his belief that we should've won by a greater margin, Campbell you feel is well timed on that score.

'We created lots of chances and needed an own goal to win the game, so we need to improve that. He's got a good attitude and works hard. He'll blend in well with the rest of the group because that's what the group have got.'

Campbell is obviously the second signing of the summer following on from goalkeeper Chris Kettings who joined us from Blackpool, and with only a few weeks remaining now, you would imagine other targets will start turning up shortly.
