The Wilf To Return - Update

The Wilf To Return - Update

It's been speculated all summer that Wilfried Zaha would return home, and we tried to bring him back in January, but reports are a little muddled today.

Some outlets are carrying stories saying that a deal is close, others are saying it's done and dusted and there is even a tweet from Wilf reading.

'Back!!#CPFC'

That was deleted again within minutes of being posted, but not before it got upwards of 1000 retweets.

If the deal goes through, or has gone through, it's said it will be a season long loan for the our former youngster and Sky even have quotes from him leaving Manchester United's training ground where he said 'it's a nice vibe' to know he's returning to Palace and he added that it should be official 'tomorrow'.

New manager Neil Warnock is also quoted as saying.

'I think Wilfried needs us like we need Wilfried. He's been at a big club like Man United, and he's probably got lost in the chambers there. He could have gone to three or four clubs and I think people think wrong of him at times with what they say about his attitude. Wilfried has always had a great attitude for me. He wants to learn, he wants to do extra training, so we are going to let him do that.'

Since leaving us, he has now won two England caps and spent the second half of last season out on loan with Cardiff City.

Warnock finished by saying.

'Yes it's very close. We have agreed everything but there are just a few little bits to sort out.'

Update -

Our friends over at Vital Manchester Utd have confirmed the deal within the last half hour (just noticed) and have said that it is a loan move for the season BUT that we also have a permanent buy clause inserted into the move.
