Hodgson Set For Goalkeeper Capture?
It's being reported today that Diego Cavalieri is in the country for talks over a potential short term deal with Crystal Palace.
Manager Roy Hodgson is keen to add cover between the sticks to provide Wayne Hennessey with competition and back up owing to the fact that Julian Speroni is set for a two month spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, and with the transfer window closed, Cavaleiri is available as a free agent and can be added to the group with us having a spare place in the Premier League 25 man squad.
The Evening Standard reported our interest in the 35 year old former Fluminense goalkeeper earlier today but with an apparent agreement to sign Vicente Guaita from Getafe come the summer, any deal is likely to be until the end of the campaign.
The player has three caps for Brazil and spent two years at Anfield between 2008-10, playing under Hodgson during his time with Liverpool.
