Former Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock had a winning return to his former club as QPR ran out 2-0 winners at Selhurst Park.
A spectacular strike from Akos Buzsaky on 11 minutes and a Kaspars Gorkss header just after the break were enough for Warnock's side to grab three vital points in the battle against relegation.
Clint Hill had the most notable of chances for Palace but the Eagles were otherwise outclassed by their London rivals.
Just seconds into the game a clash of heads between Palace striker Calvin Andrew and Rangers defender Damion Stewart left both men down for some time.
Andrew rose first but Stewart remained grounded for sometime after and tests have found that the Jamaican international has suffered a fractured skull and bleeding into the brain.
The somewhat mixed reception for former boss Neil Warnock was soon forgotten by Palace fans when Buzsaky fired home a stunning strike from the edge of the box.
QPR's second came in somewhat dubious circumstances. The visitors were awarded a corner after it seemed Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni had cleared just before the ball had crossed the byline.
However, the corner was awarded and Gorkss rose unmarked to head the ball home from six yards.
The result means that Palace remain one point above the relegation zone after Sheffield Wednesday also lost away at Middlesbrough. QPR, meanwhile, have rose to 18th, six points above the drop zone.
