Prem - Palace 1-3 Southampton
Boxing Day wasn't a good day for Palace as we extended our winless run to six games following a defeat at Selhurst Park against Southampton.
Southampton, who had lost four in a row, responded to take the three-points away with the three-one win taking them back into the Premier League's top four.
It didn't take Southampton to force an opening, a 20-yard Alderweireld effort was tipped onto the bar by Speroni, Campbell put an effort wide for us and Pelle headed over the bar as the chances came early on with Forster saving well to keep out Puncheon's effort against his former side.
Mane (17) got his run right to get onto the end of a Davis pass, also beating the offside trap to go around Speroni and finishing into an empty net to put Southampton one-up.
Our reaction was a good one with Jedinak forcing Forster into another save with Campbell hitting the bar, he was offside though and it wouldn't have counted before the break but just minutes after the restart though Bertrand (48) slammed home into the top corner adding the second just after the break.
Two soon became three when a quickly taken corner from Ward-Prowse found Alderweireld (53) who powerfully headed home number three minutes later to seal the win.
Mane clipped the bar as Southampton threatened a fourth before Scott Dann (86) headed a consolation but it wasn't enough, the three-one defeat sees us drop back into the bottom three ahead of the massive game with QPR on Sunday.
