Crystal Palace 3-1 QPR (Prem)
The damage was done by Palace in the first half against QPR on Saturday at Selhurst Park in our three-one win, which saw us win for the first time since January 10th on home soil.
It also inflicted a 19th defeat from 29 Premier League games on our rivals, who are struggling to stay up, as we moved eight-points clear of the bottom three. A stunning Phillips goal late on will count for little.
I wonder if Caulker is still 'happy' that he opted for Loftus Road instead of Selhurst Park!
QPR had appealed for a foul on Austin shortly before we finally took the lead, that we had threatened, when Zaha (21) got onto the end of a Bolasie cross to force the ball home, this came at a price though as he crashed into the post in doing so.
McArthur (40) had a simple finish from another Bolasie cross to double our lead five-minutes from half time with the points wrapped up before the break when Zaha's pass to Ward (42) saw him curl home just two-minutes later to make it three!
More goals could have come our way in the second half before Speroni, who had nothing to do before this, was beaten by a stunning, and it really was stunning, 40-yard Phillips (83) effort but that was too little too late - he was denied soon after by a Speroni save though.
QPR are still only four-points from safety but having lost all but one of their away games this season they'll need dramatic improvement whereas we'll be a little more comfortable following this win!
